Schecter Omen 8 – A Guitar with the Extra Octaves

The latest 8-string model of Schecter guitars, namely Schecter Omen 8 has surpassed all previous models by providing two additional lower notes than standard low-E. In addition to its attractive feature of entry level 8-strings, its reasonable cost also makes it preferable by those buyers who demand a quality guitar instrument within a manageable purchase price.

 An Overview of Its Features

Its highlighted features include the basswood body with rosewood fingerboard, 26.5 inch scale of bolt-on maple neck, 24 X-jumbo frets, CTM-8 bridge, tuning and Schecter diamond plus humbucking bridge pickup. The additional characteristics include the Schecter diamond plus humbucking ‘neck’ pickup and the controlling knobs of volume and tones. The neck support is provided by ‘carbon fiber rods’ which attach to both sides of the truss-rod.

The detailed overview of its other parts is stated here below:

Basswood Body

The Schecter Omen 8 has a strong and stable body build up of basswood which is less reactive to environmental factors. Moreover, the highly reflective tone of the basswood makes it appear more attractive and solid.

Maple Neck

It is a strong part of the Schecter omen 8 which enhances its resonance along with remarkable sustainability. The 26.5 inch scaled maple neck brightens the tone and outer look of the guitar’s basswood body.

Rosewood Fingerboard

The fingerboard of the Schecter omen 8 is composed of rosewood which is lubricated enough to produce stable tones. It does so by absorbing the strayed overtones into the oily pores of the rosewood.
Schecter Diamond plus Humbucking Pickup

This portion is made up of a ceramic magnet wounded by a coil. This electromagnetic assembly transfers high pitched tunes over the edge in amplified version. This part is specifically made for generating lower and decent sounds to loud and intense rhythms. The additional pickup option is of a ‘Graph-tech Black TUSQ’ self-lubricating nut which prevents strings binding and ensures tuning constancy. This also helps in producing balanced and deep tones efficiently.

Tuning Section

The tuning section is the most important and sensitive portion of the Schecter omen 8. It is protected under a sealed cover of a lubricated case enclosing the 15:1 ratio gears. This range of gears results into smoother tones and accurate tuning. The tuning section also includes removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing and a 10mm diameter peg hole.

The Schecter Omen 8 is available in three colored models i.e. black, white and walnut satin. It can be used in different occasions for varying purposes such as during practice, jamming and recording in small bands, venues and rock concerts.

In short, the Schecter Omen 8 is an attractive and solid model with excellent features. If you want to feel good at producing versatile tunes, then try this one out and be ready to have fun at playing it!
